JOSEPH R. CARCIONE, JR, DO, MBA
was responsible for the creation of the practice currently known as
Central Westchester Neuromuscular Care, PC. He is a graduate of the New
York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to entering medical school,
he attended Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York and earned a double
major BS degree in Biology and Psychology. Dr. Carcione returned to his
Jasper heritage completing a Master of Business Administration from
Manhattan College with dual concentration in managerial sciences and
organizational behavior.
After graduating medical school, he completed residency in Neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York. He then completed a Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology & Neuromuscular Disease at Montefiore Medical Center. He remains as an attending at the Einstein/Montefiore medical community presently.
Dr. Carcione is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology with Added Qualifications & Certification in Neuromuscular Medicine. He also holds boards in pain management from the American Academy of Pain Management. He has attained New York State certification as a physician acupuncturist. He is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the American College of Physician Executives.
Dr. Carcione’s interests are largely in the fields of neuromuscular disease, neuromusculoskeletal and occupational disorders, clinical neurophysiology and the use of medical acupuncture, Travel injection therapy and manipulative medicine in their management. He is an expert electromyographer and performs a large number of electromyography procedures each year. In addition, he is well versed in the practice and technique of medical acupuncture and osteopathic manipulative medicine, continuing to service patients from the New York Tri-state area.
